Oncology Massage-Massage for People Living with Cancer

Therapeutic massage and bodywork is an excellent way to support you in staying healthy, stimulating immune system functioning, and allowing the body to deeply rest and heal from cancer and cancer treatment.

Laura Rose has had extensive training in Oncology Massage and has understands how massage needs to be modified to work safely as well as how to address side-effects and complications of surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, and medications.
Laura Rose is also available to teach Massage to family and care-givers of people living with cancer, either in private settings, or in a classroom setting.

Laura Rose had three years of experience providing massage at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, with the Whole Women, Whole Health program, providing massage for women recovering from Breast Cancer Treatment since February of 2005. This program provides massage, acupuncture treatments, as well as yoga, meditation, and nutrition classes at no charge to women who were treated at Mercy Hospital for Breast Cancer in the last five years.

Continuing Education & Teaching
Laura Rose teaches workshops for other massage therapists as well as family members and other caregivers on how to give safe, effective massage to people who are living with cancer. She currently teaches at the Boulder Massage Therapy Institute. In the past, she has taught at the SOMA Institute in Chicago, as well as the Center for Massage and Natural Health in Asheville, North Carolina.
